What skin care procedures are offered at The Austin-Weston Elite Skin Center?
The Austin-Weston Elite Skin Center performs a full spectrum of skincare and facial rejuvenation procedures, including:
- Fraxel™ re:store treatment
- Chemical Peel
- Clinical Facial
With both surgical and non-surgical options, we can help you create a total skin rejuvenation plan. We will explain each procedure and advise you on which option or group of options can best achieve the results you desire.
Why would I need more than one skincare procedure?
Every person’s skin is unique, and has suffered a different level of damage from the sun, pollution, and the aging process. Using our VISIA® imaging technology, we can help you identify all the issues standing between you and healthy, younger-looking skin.
You may find that combining two or more types of treatments is necessary to fully fix and rejuvenate your skin. Many of our outpatient treatments can emphasize and improve the effectiveness of facelift surgery and other surgical procedures.
Are there any risks involved?
Any medical treatment or procedure, even over-the-counter medication, entails a certain amount of risk. While there are complication risks with facial rejuvenation surgery or non-surgical treatment, all of our procedures and treatments are FDA-approved to be safe and effective.
Of course, the less invasive the procedure is, the lower the risk of complications. This makes our outpatient, non-invasive procedures such as Fraxel™ re:store and microdermabrasion very popular with patients who are wary of surgical options.
One of the best ways to minimize the risks of cosmetic procedures is to select a cosmetic surgery center with experienced, board certified cosmetic surgeons such as those serving at The Austin-Weston Elite Skin Center.
Drs. George Weston, Robert Sigal, Byron Poindexter and Christopher Knotts together have more than 50 years of experience, and they specialize exclusively in cosmetic procedures.
Fraxel Procedure FAQ
Q: What is Fraxel?
A: Fraxel is a non-invasive, skin rejuvenation treatment that does many things for the skin. Its main function is to remodel your own collagen cells and create new ones. This will result in a significant reduction of lines and wrinkles as well as tighten and firm the skin.
Q: What else does it do?
A: In addition to tightening and wrinkle reduction, it addresses pigmentation issues, redness, melasma and sun damage.
Q: How many treatments do I need?
A: Depending on what you are trying to address, you may need on average 4-5 treatments…However, scheduling a free consultation with Michael is the best thing to do so he can assess your skin and give you a more accurate prediction on how many treatments you need.
Q: How long does it last?
A: The results are more permanent because the body is actually producing its own new collagen cells versus injecting a product that your body eventually absorbs. The results can improve long after the series is completed.
Q: How often can I get the treatment?
A: We recommend 3-4 weeks in between procedures.
Q: Is there a lot of down time?
A: No. We call it “social” downtime. you will be pink like a sunburn for a couple of days. Once that goes away, the skin will feel rough and flaky; only to the touch you can’t really see it. That is just the old collagen cells being pushed out so the new ones can form. We chose this version of Fraxel because of the minimal down time. In 4-5 treatments you can achieve the same result as doing 1, major down time, high risk procedure such as a CO2 treatment.
